We all know that a very important factor into your decision to purchase a “luxury” vehicle is how the vehicle feels when you drive it. It may look nice, and it may have some awesome tech and accent features, but ultimately the driving comfort and atmosphere will be very important. After all, a car that looks great isn’t worth much if you don’t enjoy driving it! Those for whom space is a major consideration will love how the 2013 Mercedes GL450 SUV combines capacity with luxury and style.
This Mercedes-Benz crossover has received some delicious updates for 2013, among them a new designo® interior. Structurally, this model year’s vehicle has a longer body and more head- and leg-room. The 2013 GL450 4MATIC® gets its oomph from a 362 horsepower, 4.7-liter V8 DOHC engine, which pairs with a 7-speed shiftable automatic transmission and its namesake 4MATIC® all-wheel drive to provide the power and capability for road-hugging, smooth-riding drivability.
This model’s exterior design pulls together 20” alloy wheels, wraparound taillamps, chrome accents and trim, a bold three-bar grille, and sleek privacy glass to create an aerodynamic and powerful profile. Inside we see designo® at work: hand-polished Eucalyptus wood on the dashboard and doors, brushed metal trim, and a premium leather multifunction steering wheel. The seats are covered in comfortable, multifunctional MB-Tex upholstery, but that can be upgraded to a leather option. The front bucket seats are heated and adjustable, while 2nd row seats split 60/40 and the power-folding 3rd-row seats split 50/50 to allow for more flexible use of this model’s interior space.
